Thankfulness At It's Finest

It has been a while since my previous post, but iv'e been a little busy. I have given some thought to how much I have to be thankful for. Tommorow my dear cousins, aunt, and uncle will be arriving at our house to spent the week with us. For about 5 years now this has become the most loved Davis-Amarante tradition out of the many. We always have a blast even if things don't always go as we expect it. Think about that for a sec, if everything went exactly how you expected, would life be any fun? i don't think so.
One thing i am thank full for is the fact that I have a family to be thankful with, not everybody does. I won't spoil the suprises you will see on my thankfulness feathers. One thing I will say is I am thankful that the Packers are 8-1!!! Yay! Peace and love folks, see you later.

Back With a Bang

Well, it's been about a month now, and i have finally got on blogger, so sorry for the hold up folks. Send me comments and stuff to tell me whats up. My life has been far from plain, with school, freinds, family and everything. For all those people who say that there is nothing to do, your wrong, life always has adventures to go on. If an adventure for you is climbing a big tree, than cool, go for it, but remember, there is always a greater challenge to take.

Many of you reading this, were probably expecting another wonderfully written, sport story, or 5 step to , well, i'm getting there. Within a matter of a few days or less, there will be the big story written up, and that my freinds is why this is entitled, "Back With a Bang". Peace... :)

5 Steps To A Good Baseball Game Wave

1. BUY CHEAP SEATS, these seats often have drinkers who catch on to the wave quite quickly and are very tipsy.

2. BRING YOUR FREINDS, bringing 4 or 5 of your buddies will increase the chances of starting a good wave. If you and your buddies start it, your section of seats will catch on, spreading throught the park for the ideal effect of a ball game wave.

3. WAIT FOR A LULL, don't do the wave during an interesting or exiting part of the game, such as a big hit or home run. wait for a mound meeting or and long at bat. this will make the crowd thirsty for exitment, thus the perfect time for the wave.

4. GO FOR THE END, shoot for the last half of the game to perform the wave, the crowd is a bit tired or drunk and will be more motivated to do the wave properly.

5. SHOW YOUR ENERGY, if you come off as an energetic and fun person, people will take to you and want to do the wave with you and ask you to do it again and again increasing the amount of partisipants.

Green Bay "packed" away by Jaguars

After Green Bay's win in Seattle, 48 - 13, they lost at home with Jacksonville, 21 - 13. Veteran quarterback, Brett Favre has been doing a wonderful job after some say he was slipping. The Packers now have 2 wins and 1 loss, which isn't bad, and it's only the pre-season.

After a slow first quarter, Green Bay earned ten points to take the lead. The lead was swept away in the third quarter, when the Jaguars got fourteen points. The Packers had hope in the fourth quarter, when they gained three points, but Jacksonville got seven points to seal the deal.

Michael Vick "Chewed Up"

Some think it's funny, others think it's offensive, but either way the new dog chew toy that resembles Michael Vick is appropriate for his crime. You can get one for your dog online at vickdogchewtoy.com. Vick deserves this humiliation, training dogs to fight and be violent, is honestly barbaric. If he can't find better use of his time, then that's pretty sad. He is still fighting in court as of now, but officials still don't know what to do with these un-naturally violent dogs. We will just need to wait and watch.

"The Scooter" Rolls On

On Monday, at the complete age of 89, Phil Rizzuto died. Among the best shortstops, he also was honored as a broadcaster for the New York Yankees for decades. In respect of his death, yesterday at Yankee Stadium, his former home field, the Yankees wore the number 10 on their sleeves to remember him. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame as an MVP, and a player winning in seven World Series and nine Pennants.

His body build was not large at all, only weighing 150 and 5' 6" tall. In his career he batted .273 and stole 149 bases. Being as successful as he was as a rookie, he became a replacement in shortstop for Frank Crosetti. Boston Red Sox great, Ted Williams, often said the reason that the Yankees beat them so many times in the American League pennant race, was because of Rizzuto. Rissuto played a big role in baseball both on the field and off, we will always remember him.

3x history

Alex Rodriguez has finally done it, 500 homers, taking him 10 days to jump from 499 to the title. 500 is big, that's alot of home runs for one man to hit. Very few men can reach that many, one being Barry Bonds who hit 756 the other day, breaking Hank Aaron's record for home runs in a career, which reminds us of Tome Glavine pitching 300 wins in his career. These three, no matter what it took them to get the have made history, and history is history.

Hidenwood

Today was fun because I went to my friend Ben's pool party at Hidenwood pool. It was really fun, we had a diving contest, water basketball game, and dunking war; and the best part was, it was all unorganised :). Ben, Justin, Erik, Chris, and Myself had a great time. We would munch on cookies and chips, and drink during the 15 minute adult swim break that took place every 45 minutes.

After all is said and done, today was a good day. [comment this entry] [and the other ones that have 0 comments]

Barry in the "Bonds" of Steroids

Home-run champ Barry Bonds, is a dissapointment to baseball, and the San Fransisco Giants. He has been using drugs to "improove" his play, not thinking of the consequences. He is only a few homers away from breaking Hank Aaron's 755 career home run record. This hall-of-famer was honerable and set the record without the use of drugs. Aaron deserved the record, Bonds would be a shame to the record. I am not Blaming Bonds without knowing his crime, in fact everyone knows of his crime. His head grew a whole hat size, and his shoe size grew about three sizes. My hope is that he won't break the record, and that a more honerable, pure ball player will. Sports officials are considering him as a Hall of Fame nominee. Baseball fan, George Vacca said, "If Pete Rose Wasn't allowed to be Inducted into the hall of fame, why should Bonds?"...."It's pretty obvious the he's been juiced up for a while, if your head grows a whole hat size, you know somthings wrong". Now we just watch and wait.

Diamonds, Heat, and Busted Tires... Oh my!!!

[Flashback to cross-country trip] We woke up in Arkansas and drove to the "Crater of Diamonds". We arrived there regitered and searched for gems... but found nothing. We searched in the heat of the day, it mustv'e been 100 degrees. We left hot and sweaty and drove for hours on the highway, but then ............................................................................................................................ BAM!!!, the rear right tire blew up completely, there was no pop or pinpoint of the blow, it internaly combusted, or that is what I think. We got it replaced, finally after angry drama. we stayed at a Best Western that night and tried to swim, but only lasted for 10 minutes, because it began to strike heat lightning.

5 Days Left

The Davis family Cross-country trip is near it's end. After visiting 22 states so far we are near the home stretch. In ways it would be nice to extend our vacation, but it's nice to get back home with our pets and city.We have been to the geysers of Yellowstone, the Badlands of Dakota, the big cities of California, and the middle of no where. This trip has opened my eyes to whats out there. There is so much to see and not nearly enought time to see it all.

Global Warming Theory/ Waterworld

The big issue commonly discussed these days is preventing global warming. In the book of Genesis, God promised Noah through a rainbow that he would never destroy the earth by flood ever again. If the polar ice caps were to melt, the world's land would be completely covered. [except possibly Mt. Everest which may stick out the top].
This possibility was portrayed in the movie Waterworld, which I watched the other day in the car. The main plot of the movie is that the ice caps melt, leaving no land and few survivors. The ones that do survive form pacts to search dry land together. This movie was appropriately rated PG-13 for: Violence, Brief nudity, occasional language, some sexuality, and depictions of blood. It was an interesting movie, but may not be appropriate for many viewers.

Hotel Stuff

After our stay with the Best Western Inn, it was awarded 3 1/2 stars. The next night We stayed at the one and only Eldorado Inn, it was descent, not the best [considering their wi-fi was shared with the truck stop next door]. It was old timey and interesting. The breakfast was pretty lame, but the overall star rating was 2 stars.
The next night was spent at the only Woodsman Country Lodge. It had no wi-fi no pool or spa, but it was in Oregon, so there is no signal anyway. How ever, the decor was amazing, the beds were made of stained wood and the coffee was Seattles Best. The overall rating was 2 1/2 stars. The Front Street Inn was the place we stayed at the next night. It was crummy it smelled bad and there was foe wi-fi, and no pool and spa. but there were okay things, the overall rating was 1 1/2 stars.

What do you think? Tell Me.

MN, IA, SD, WY, MT, ID:

The title says it all... six states since my last blog. Minnesota and Iowa weren't must to write about [except for the Miss. River.] South Dakota Was Fun We stopped at a sculpture park, with insane birds that swooped down to attack. The next day we went to 1880's town which was all old time. We were on our way back, when one of the buildings had a mother cat with her newborn litter of kittens. I must say they were adorable. We saw Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse mem. later that evening.
The next morning, we set out for Wyoming [Yellowstone] and arrived there late that night, late enough that Allison and I slept in the car, while mom mumbled all this banter about not being indigenous. The park, anyways, was amazing, the geysers the horse back riding and everything was incredible. Upon leaving this morning, we drove through the grand Teton mountains, and checked into a Best Western Inn which so far looks like a 3 and 1/2 star hotel to me maybe 4. Well good night all!

States Traveled: VA, WV, MD, PA, OH, IN, IL, WI, MN, IA, SD, WY, MT, and ID.

Wisconsin

We are staying at a hotel which i would rate 1 and 1/2 stars, pretty crummy. But Wisconsin is wonderful! we saw this cool rainbow, and it was big and bright. In Chicago previously, we ate the best deep dish pizza. During our travels, we saw 31 different state liscence plates [including ontario]. We've been through 8 states: VA, WV, MD, PA, OH, IN, IL, WI. This morning is another driving day though... cousins, aunt, and uncle, comment me and tell me your thoughts.

Clones- Are They Saved?

With the modern day concept of cloning, one major question comes to mind: Do they have souls? The answer is: We don't know, no one is God, and God is the ultimate judge of salvation. The scientist who "created" the clone isn't God, but is a creation of God himself. This is why i think cloning is wrong. My point being, anything that is not created by God, has no soul. This blog is for you guys, tell if I'm wrong, prove me wrong if I am, I want feedback on this one!

The World Map/Exitement/Motablism

I am preparing for the arrival of my Aunt Elen[casualy known as "Nonnie"] and my two cousins Mikayla and Phillip, I haven't seen them in a few months and gladly awate their arrival on Friday afternoon.

Comment this blog and tell me what you think, [or don't think].

It wasn't until about a year ago that i developed an apetite bigger than most people. When I find a food i like, I will tear through breakfast, tear through lunch, tear through dinner, and 30 minutes later find myself craving food. You may think i have developed a barbaric lifestyle, but i'm pretty skinny, and i eat more than most people i know. I feel bad for the people that diet constantly and are still 300 Lbs., while i mow through every meal and am quite slender. I thank God for my high motablism.

Like my world visitor map? This map will tell me who is reading my blog around the world!

AC in DC?

Yesterday, I went to Washington DC for a field trip, it was so hot. Every air conditioner on the bus was on full blast. The ride up was fun and energetic a great way to start the morning. When we got there, the city was covered in cops. Also we saw a protester get carried away for making bad signes about John Kerry, it was hilarious! We went to the Capital Building, and the whole inside was all made of marble.

After a tour in the Capital, we ate lunch at it's snack bar, everything was really expensive. The guy who was at the counter was like the "Soup Nazi" from "Sienfeld". he wasd really funny. After lunch, we went to the Smithsonian Art Museum. It was a sight! We walked around for a bit and looked at the main exibit.

After Smithsonian, we went the the Space Center, the place was just like the one in Hampton, exept a little smaller. We then went to starbucks, where Mrs. Garett bought us all Frapichinos. We then Headed home on the bus, and had a hardy laugh about every thing that happened, such as Phil Mouring getting lost at the Space Center, (we got Him Back, by the way)

How do you like my description, comment me about it!
