With the modern day concept of cloning, one major question comes to mind: Do they have souls? The answer is: We don't know, no one is God, and God is the ultimate judge of salvation. The scientist who "created" the clone isn't God, but is a creation of God himself. This is why i think cloning is wrong. My point being, anything that is not created by God, has no soul. This blog is for you guys, tell if I'm wrong, prove me wrong if I am, I want feedback on this one!

If I understand you correctly, it is your belief that a clone is not created by God, and therefore can have no soul? If so, let's consider for a moment how scientists might produce a clone...the scientist can not make a creature or human out of nothing. He must use material (DNA, etc.) created by God. The scientist, then, is not creating life from nothing, so is therefore not a creator. The scientist is, however, altering living material, which is another point to debate. Scientists do this all the time, though, when they replace hearts and kidneys, or help parents have babies when they are having difficulty on their own...what do you think of those scientific pursuits? Is any type of "tampering" with life wrong? Where do we draw the line? It is a lot to think about, isn't it?
yes alot to think about
adding on to my previous comment [lol, on my own page] i think dad and uncle ADAD should read this and comment too, we could start a good debate here
Cloning replaces the genetic material in a fertilized egg. If a soul is "implanted" at conception, then this has already happened. If it is implanted some time later, there is no reason why that couldn't still happen. Just because the genetic material has been swapped out, doesn't mean the resulting offspring won't be human or won't have a soul.
Just as a copy of a photograph is still a photograph in its own right, a clone will still be human.
Wow, Brandon! You have a knack for getting people talking! Running brings up some interesting thoughts about where we draw the line. I believe that any kind of tampering outside of the natural means of reproduction is wrong. I also think that God is merciful, and would not punish an innocent victim of scientific human engineering by withholding salvation. So, because clones would be human (made of human DNA) God would honor His natural law by giving them a soul. Lots more to discuss here. Maybe we can get a good row going this weekend! ;>)
I agree with Cathy W. There is a soul. God is faithful to the laws he established.
